Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Lincoln Town Car

Today on our 2009 Lincoln Town-car, we'll be installing the Tow Ready Four Pole Wiring Harness, part number 119179KIT. To install the new harness, we'll open up the rear trunk and then remove the interior paneling so we can gain access to the Manufacturer's wiring. We'll first need to remove some pushpin fasteners and then remove the rear threshold. We'll remove the fasteners that secure the carpeting behind the taillight assembly on the driver's side. Now that we have access to the taillight wiring, we'll go ahead and take a test light and test the wiring to verify the signal wire. We'll need to locate the left and right turn signal, running light circuit and brake light circuit so that we can use the quick splice connectors to secure our new Tow Ready Harness directly to the manufacturer's wiring. For the passenger side turn signals, it's going to be an orange wire with a blue stripe. Next we'll take our quick splice connector, slide over the manufacturer's wire, then take the green wire from our harness, slide it into the connector, and crimp it down. For our left turn signal, left braking, it's going to be the green wire with an orange stripe. more
